Pandemonium completed for BEAST FEaST 2021

Have just completed the new piece Pandemonium for BEAST FEaST 2021 to be premiered on BEAST YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXojm2ASq_ndKBEtv7c02EQ on Friday April 23rd at 7.30pm.

The piece uses sounds from the COVID-19 Sound Map which, since March 2020, has been documenting changes to the soundscape as a result of restrictions put in place by governments around the world to combat the COVIA-19 pandemic. For this piece, I imagine a “pandemonium” to be some kind of instrument which emits sounds recorded during the pandemic, but it also has the power to transform them into new sounds. So the piece moves in and out of real, recognisable sound worlds into new, unfamiliar but connected ones.
